Environmental hazards
Fine powder is easy to burn, sometimes it can self ignite and explode. Zirconium powder can also be burned in carbon dioxide and nitrogen. Powder will cause combustion and explosion when heated, exposed to open fire or contacted with oxidant.
Hazard control
1、 Leakage emergency treatment
Isolate the contaminated area and restrict access. Cut off the fire. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained breathing apparatus and fire-fighting protective clothing. Small leakage: use non sparking tools to collect in dry, clean and covered containers. Transfer recovery. Large amount of leakage: cover with plastic cloth and canvas to reduce flying. Use non sparking tools to collect, transfer and recycle.
2、 Protective measures
Respiratory system protection: wear self-priming filter type dust mask when the dust concentration in the air exceeds the standard. Eye protection: wear chemical safety goggles when the dust concentration in the air exceeds the standard. Body protection: wear general work protective clothing. Hand protection: wear chemical resistant gloves.
